Audit Report Indicates New Market Volunteer Unit's Finances Suspect

NEW MARKET - New Market and Shenandoah County officials have frozen funds for the New Market Volunteer Fire Company after an investigation into its finances revealed possible fraud. A report prepared by Bill Barrett, a Richmond-based auditor, found more than $30,000 in probable fraudulent transactions.
