HARRISONBURG - With about six weeks left to go in its fundraising campaign, the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham has topped the $1 million mark but is still $361,000 shy of reaching its largest goal ever.
The agency, established locally more than 50 years ago, opened its 2008 Community Impact Campaign in September in an effort to raise $1.4 million, 30 percent more than last year's goal of $1,058,000.
The drive officially ends at the end of April....
