Clogged Streets Lead To More Fender-Benders

HARRISONBURG - Local police attribute heavy traffic in downtown Harrisonburg Friday to wrecks on Interstate 81 that forced numerous vehicles into the city. Mary-Hope Vass, public information officer for the Harrisonburg Police Department, said accidents on the interstate throughout the day caused traffic from I-81 to spill into the city, causing congestion that possibly contributed to similar mishaps.
