B. Nadene Shoemaker

B. Nadene Shoemaker, 98, of Bergton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones, Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Bergton, and was a daughter of the late Fahrney Allen and Martha Ada Tusing Fitzwater.

Nadene was a homemaker. She was a member of Crab Run Church of the Brethren in Mathias, W.Va.

On Dec. 18, 1937, she married Carl D. Shoemaker, who preceded her in death April 29, 1963.

Surviving are four children, Kay S. Lam and husband, Joe, of Richmond, C. Daniel “Danny” Shoemaker of Bergton, Rickie Shoemaker and wife, Cathy, of Bergton, Rebecca “Becky” Minnich and husband, Rick, of Broadway; grandchildren, Ashley Dawn Shoemaker, Destiny Faith Shoemaker, Carlie Richele Shoemaker, Kelsie Grace Shoemaker; one brother, Allen Fitzwater of Bergton; numerous nieces and nephews, and caregivers, Dorothy Fulk, Madaline Carr, Annabell Dove, Dawn Hupp, Ed and Doris Mongold.

Two grandchildren, Carl Danny Shoemaker, Sonja Renee Shoemaker; and three sisters, Elta Corway, Mazie Shipe, and Louise Mongold, preceded her in death.

Pastors Frank Tusing and Mike Shenk will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Crab Run Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Perry Moyer Memorial Cemetery in Bergton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
