Delores ‘Corky’ Jean French

Delores “Corky” Jean French, 81, of Bridgewater, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. Corky was born Oct. 13, 1937, a daughter of the late Geneva Alice (Lambert) and Willie Gilmer Cave.

She previously worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Harrisonburg and was a member of Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene.

She was united in marriage to Bobby Darrell French, who preceded her in death.

Corky is survived by three daughters, Debbie Huffman of Bridgewater, Lori Huffman of Bridgewater and Sandy Morris (Ronnie) of Weyers Cave; sons, Glen Blosser (Vicky) of Bridgewater, David Blosser (Christine) of Fredericksburg and Jacques French (Sherry) of Mount Jackson; foster son, Frankie Leach (Jen) of Staunton; stepsons, Darrell French (Missy) of Mount Crawford and Clayton Jay French (Rebecca) of Clover Hill; sister, Juanita Hawkins (James) of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Oleta Miller of Rockingham; special niece, Julia Cacho of Rockingham.

She is also preceded in death by brothers, William “Bill” Cave, Buford Cave and James “Jim” Cave and sisters, Janet Cave and Phyllis Brown.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Tony Martin and Pastor Tina Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Briery Branch Church Cemetery.
