After a long and courageous battle with leukemia, Shawn Radocha surrendered his journey to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2012.
Born on May 5, 1990, Shawn lived in Bethlehem, Pa., until the age of 11, when he and his family moved to Weyers Cave, Va. He was proud to have attended Grace Christian School from 2005 to 2009. After graduating high school, he went on to study aviation maintenance technology at Blue Ridge Community College. He was also employed at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Waynesboro, Va.
Shawn was a cherished member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights, where he was an inspiration to many. He touched the lives of others with his laugh, smile, humor and intelligence. Shawn taught others the true meaning of faith, courage, hope and love.
Shawn is survived by his loving mother and father, Lynn and Michael; his “little” sister, Breanna; grandparents, Joan and Ray Kanapsky; grandmother, Jean Radocha; his soul mate, Kimberly Beck; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Shawn was a determined young man who lived his life to the fullest during his short time on earth. He fought the good fight, kept his faith and left us with many cherished memories. He is now in the hands of our heavenly Father, pain-free and shaking things up on the other side. He will remain in our hearts forever. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
A celebration of life service will take place on July 2 at 7 p.m. at Church on the Hill in Waynesboro, Va., and also on July 6 at 3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted by the family.
