Elizabeth ‘Libby’ May

Elizabeth “Libby” May went home July 24, 2012, in Alexandria, Va. Libby was born in Stuarts Draft June 30, 1917. She lived in Bridgewater for a number of years, where she raised her family and, prior to moving to Alexandria, lived in Grottoes for a number of years. 
 
One of her great joys in life was music, particularly classic gospel hymns. She also enjoyed writing poetry (which she shared with many) and bird-watching. 
 
Libby is survived by her daughters, Shirley Davies, Jean Henson and Sandra North; her granddaughter, Kathleen Pollack; her two great-grandsons, Sgt. Daniel Carter and William Carter; and her great- granddaughter, Heather Hale.
 
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Weyers Cave.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and the American Cancer Society.
