Betty A. Dellinger

Betty Arlene Dellinger, 80, of Fulks Run, Va., died Aug. 9, 2012, at Life Care Center of New Market.

 

She was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Dorman and Fleta Cook Eaton.

 

She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olivet Church of the Brethren near Timberville. Betty had lived with her daughter for the last 13 years.

 

On March 18, 1950, she married Floyd Edward Dellinger Sr., who preceded her in death on April 1, 2000.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Janice Lee Stroop of Timberville, Peggy Sue Mitchell of Timberville and Mary Lou Custer of Fulks Run; four sons, Larry Dellinger of Mount Crawford, Johnnie Dellinger of Timberville, Calvin Dellinger of New Market and Michael Dellinger of Timberville; one sister, Linda Custer of New Market; one brother, Ray Eaton of Mount Jackson; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jeff Delawder, Whitney Hartman and Ashby Price.

 

She was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Edward Dellinger Jr.; four brothers and three sisters.

 

The Rev. Jerry Ruff will conduct a funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
