Erika N. Fifer

We celebrate the life of Erika Nicole Fifer, 28, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Mount Solon, who left this world unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Erika was born in Harrisonburg on May 25, 1984, the daughter of Doug and LeAnna Fifer of Mount Solon, and Debbie Howdyshell of Mount Sidney.

Erika was a farm girl at heart. She enjoyed her job with Cargill as a farm marketer, loved to hunt and spend time outdoors. She was full of life and loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Sangerville Church of the Brethren and a proud Virginia Tech graduate.

Erika is also survived by a brother, Dwayne Fifer and wife, Jenny, of Weyers Cave; two half sisters, Lauren Fifer and Kayla Fifer, both of Mount Solon; paternal grandparents, Garland and Carolyn Fifer, of Mount Solon; and stepgrandparents, Leon and Barbara Sheets of Mount Sidney.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Wilmer and Gladys Howdyshell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sangerville Church of the Brethren in Bridgewater, 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 with the Rev. Kevin Daggett officiating. Burial will be private at Emmanuel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
