Hazel Christina (Anderson) Martone, 88, of Basye, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, 2013, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Hazel was born on Oct. 9, 1924, in East Providence, R.I., a daughter of the late William and Ethel Thatcher Anderson.
In addition to her parents, a brother, William Anderson and a sister, Rhoda Anderson, preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife of 68 years to her husband, Albert Anthony Martone, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, David Philippen-Martone and his wife, Leslie of Silver Spring, MD; three sisters, Ethel Gagnon, Olive DeCotis, and Judith Fiske, all of Rhode Island; and two grandchildren, Sam and Ila Martone.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kyger Funeral Homes.
