Kenneth Lee Strother

Kenneth Lee Strother, 70, of New Market, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Harrisonburg on Nov. 5, 1942, and was a son of the late Rastus Howard and Tessie Elizabeth (Crawford) Strother.

Kenneth worked in several area restaurants as a cook.

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Britt of Waynesboro and Ruth Cornelia Stevenson of Harrisonburg; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Barber of Waynesboro and Lee Franklin Boyd of Bridgeport, Conn.; three sisters, Gloria Moats of Moyers, W.Va., Nancy Moats of Mount Solon and Karen Hall of Staunton; and one brother, Griffin Strother of Warren, Ohio. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Bridgewater at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, with the Rev. Dawn Strother officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood-Ames Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
