Emery B. Heatwole Jr.

Emery Boward Heatwole Jr., 84, of Harrisonburg, peacefully passed away, with his family by his side, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Boward was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late Emery and Ruby Corbin Heatwole.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Bridgewater College. He owned and operated the family business for over 40 years, Heatwole Tile Co., in Harrisonburg. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and trips to the family cabin in the mountains. He loved to go fishing when he was able.

On Nov. 15, 1952, he married Ellen Lilly Heatwole, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Sharon Lynn Heatwole; sister, Delores Hoak; and numerous nephews.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clarence Moyers officiating.
