Robert W. Hoffman

Robert Warren Hoffman, 60, of Grottoes, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Willow Estates in Penn Laird.

Robert was born in Harrisonburg on March 3, 1952, and was the son of Henry W. and the late Lauretta Furman Hoffman.

He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1970 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 until 1976 in the submarine service, where he was a missile technician. Two years of this time was on SS J.C. Calhoun SSBN 630. Robert then attended Blue Ridge Community College and was employed by G.E. Industrial Controls in Charlottesville as an electronic technician, retiring in 2009 with 32 years of service.

Robert is survived by his father and friends.

He enjoyed designing and building electronic equipment in his home shop in Grottoes.

Robert requested that no formal services be held.

Burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens will be private.
