Delmar B. Dean

Delmar Brown Dean, 77, of Elkton, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Dean was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Rockingham County to the late Carlos Brown and Alda Breeden Dean.

He was a former member of the Elkton Rescue Squad and the Elkton Volunteer Fire Department. Delmar enjoyed NASCAR racing and being together with family.

Survivors include his children, Gary Dean and companion, Ann Dean, of Shenandoah, Ricky G. Dean and wife, Kelly, of McGaheysville, Debra A. Meadows and husband, Jerry, and Vicky L. Hensley and husband, Brent, all of Elkton; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and dear friend, Patricia Hensley.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Elk Run Cemetery with the Rev. Jonas Lam officiating. 

There is no formal viewing, although friends are welcome at the home of his daughter, Deb, at anytime.

In lieu of customary flower tributes, memorial donations are suggested to the Elkton Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 152, Elkton, VA 22827.
