Arlene “Sue” Dofflemyer, 56, of Elkton, passed away at her home Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.
Sue was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Harrisonburg. She provided child care in her home for many years prior to working at Wrangler and RR Donnelley.
She was the daughter of Geneva B. Lam and the late Virgil H. Lam of Elkton. On Oct. 16, 1981, she married Jerry LeVan Dofflemyer, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1997.
She is survived by four children, Angela R. Eppard, Tracee R. Eppard, Kristen M.B. Cooper and husband, Eddie, and Justyn C.L. Dofflemyer, all of Elkton; nine grandchildren, Jay Shifflett and fiancé, Hailey May, Alyssa M. Shifflett, A. Brooke Cave, Zayleigh C. Eppard, Skyler A.T. Dofflemyer and JaLynn B.L. Cooper, all of Elkton, Kayla M. Cooper and Alexais B. Cooper, both of West Virginia, and Natalee A. Cooper of Front Royal; one great-grandson, Zachary L. Smith; and her brother, Daniel L. Lam and wife, Patricia, of Elkton. Also surviving are Michael Hensley, whom she considered a son, and wife, Brittany, and their boys, Kaiden and Gage of Elkton.
Sue opened her home to so many and always “Kept the Light On.”
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kyger Funeral Home to help with expenses.
