Thelma P. Hensley

Thelma P. Hensley, 85, of Elkton, went to be with the Lord Feb. 18, 2013, at the home of her son, Lawrence, where she had resided during her illness.

Mrs. Hensley was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Rockingham County to the late Zachariah and Loretta Frazier Conley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everette Earl Hensley; a son, Wilson James Hensley; five brothers and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of 10 children.

She attended the Elkton Pentecostal Church, was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. Her enjoyment was listening to music and all her grandchildren.

Surviving are her sons, Lawrence E. Hensley and wife, Shelby, of Elkton and Kenneth W. Hensley and wife, Carol, of Grottoes; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with the Rev. Brad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Run Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the home of Lawrence and Shelby, Florist Road, Elkton, at anytime.
