Lelia P. Eaton

Lelia Virginia Price Eaton, 93, a resident of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Bridgewater Home.

Mrs. Eaton was born Aug. 28, 1919, and was raised in the Endless Caverns area and was a daughter of the late William James and Mamie Catherine Hinkel Price.

She retired from Metro Pants, loved doing crafts and spending time with her family. She was a member of Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren.

On Dec. 18, 1937, she married Claude Eaton, who passed away on Dec. 20, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Rodeffer and husband, Glen, of Penn Laird and Doris Manning of Harrisonburg; a son, Leroy Eaton and wife, Dawne, of Clinton Township, Mich.; a sister, Evelyn Morris and husband, Russell, of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Warren Acker and wife, Rebecca, Lori Acker, Tim Manning, Carol Manning, Diane Carrier and husband, Stacy, Colleen Krellwitz and husband, Tim, Carey Jahns and husband, Donovan, and Dawn Muellersman and husband, Mike; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The Rev. John Jantzi will conduct a graveside service at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Care Endowment Fund, 302 N. Second St., Bridgewater, VA 22812.

A special thank you to the staff at the Bridgewater Home, Third Floor Nursing, for their care; to the Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren and the St. James United Methodist Church congregations for their prayers and cards over the past several years.
