Terrie Dean values the art of good conversation. One of her favorite holiday pastimes is gathering around the kitchen table with relatives and simply talking for hours on end.
All I want for Christmas is normal.
Charlotte Lucas, 94, of Luray, died Friday, April 5, 2013, in Luray.
Charlotte was born on July 4, 1918, in Stanley. She married Raymond Arnold Lucas Sr. on June 1, 1937, who died April 17, 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mattie Lee Dinges; sisters, Dollie Getz, Catherine M. and Lucille A. Housden, Louella V. Knott and Hilda Weakley; and brothers, Robert Lee, Rudolph “Doc,” Garland “Ike,” Herbert “Beady” and Howard Russell Dinges.
Survivors include son Raymond A. Lucas Jr. and wife, Juanita, of Luray; daughters, Barbara A. Stroupe and husband, Charlie, of Luray, and Deborah L. Jenkins and husband, Larry, of Luray; grandsons, Chuck Stroupe of Luray, Jason Jenkins and wife, Jennifer, of Luray and Spencer Lucas and wife, Carrie, of Lafayette, Ind.; granddaughters, Kristi Cubbage and husband, Chad, of Stanley and Tina Clark and husband, Eddie, of Dayton; and great-grandchildren, Lindsay Stroupe of Stanley, Natelie Cubbage of Stanley, Olivia Cubbage of Stanley, Caeley Brashears of Luray, Marcus Beahm of Fredericksburg, Lucas Clark of Dayton and Campbell Lucas of Lafayette.
Friends are welcome at the daughters’ residence at any time. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8, at the Bradley Funeral home by the Rev. Gary Nicholson.
The place of burial will be Leaksville Cemetery in Luray.
