Carlton ‘Carl’ Stanchfield

Carlton “Carl” Hill Stanchfield, 64, of Linville, died July 4, 2013, at his residence.
 
He was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Greenville, Maine, and was the son of the late Sheldon and Belva Lord Stanchfield.
 
He worked as a deputy sheriff for the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and retired in 2002. He was an M.P. in the Air Force and a member of the National Rifle Association.
 
On April 23, 1983, he married the former Kimberly Hartman, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Laura MacMahon and husband, Rick; two grandchildren, Allison and Loghun; a sister, Linda Sager and husband, Mike, all who reside in Maine; and also by his beloved three cats and one dog.
 
The Rev. Paul Glovier will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. At Mr. Stanchfield’s request, his body was cremated.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 413 Harrisonburg, VA 22803.
