Marcella R. Tams

Marcella Ruth Tams, 68, a resident of Harrisonburg, Va., departed this life on Aug. 18, 2013. She was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Marshal P. Tams. She was also lovingly raised by her late grandmother, Clara R. Tams.

 

She graduated from Lucy F. Simms High School in 1963. She went on to graduate from Eastern Mennonite College. She was employed by Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation, where she touched the lives of many neighborhood youth. She was later employed by Merck, from where she recently retired.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories, sister, Sharon R. Barber of Grottoes, Va.; brother, Ronnie M. Barber of Harrisonburg, Va.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

A memorial service and a time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. www.kygers.com .
