Clark G. ‘Jerry’ Springer

Clark Gerald “Jerry” Springer, 71, of Harrisonburg, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Avante at Harrisonburg.

 

Jerry was born in Dallas, Texas, on Dec. 22, 1942, and was the only son of the late Agnes Edwina (Clark) and George Roscoe Springer.

 

He was the owner of Springer Sewer Service, which he operated for over 30 years. Recently, he enjoyed spending his days with his art, painting and drawing.

 

Jerry is survived by six children, Rockie Springer and wife, Katie, of Florida, Elizabeth Guy and husband, Chris, of Harrisonburg, Kay Springer of Michigan, Danny Springer of South Carolina, and Shannon Combs and husband, Kenny, of Harrisonburg. Also surviving are four sisters, Aloa Agostino of California, Audrey Sax and husband, Evan, of North Carolina, Francis Haas and husband, Dick, of Maryland, and Wilma Keller and husband, Jack, of Texas. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clark Springer, and a sister, Bea Rogers.

 

The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. July 26, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Strite of New Life of the Shenandoah Valley Church officiating.
