Many long-time Elkton residents remember Creigh Deeds from when he attended first grade at Elkton Elementary, while his father served as chief of police. Deeds still has the same honest, authentic values that were instilled in him during his farm upbringing and carried out during his work in Bath County. He attended college on a shoestring budget.
If he is elected governor, we have a chance to have our Valley issues given the same weight in Richmond as do those from Northern Virginia.
He wrote the Governor’s Opportunity Fund into the Virginia Code while serving on the Blue Ridge Economic Development Commission. He proposes tax breaks for businesses only when they create jobs here, not when they ship them to India. These are the ideas we need to get our state moving.
