Public Option Is Taxation Without Representation Posted 2009-11-05

First, it was the “government option.” Then to remove the government stigma, it became the “public option.” Now, Rep. Nancy Pelosi calls it the “consumer option.” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is calling it the “competitive option.”

These folks seem to think the American public can be so easily fooled. The Left seems to think the name change will cause the American public to think this mess is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

No matter what it is called, this option will drastically raise taxes and significantly reduce the quality of health care. Look at England, Canada, and Massachusetts.

Harry Reid’s “opt out” is another mess. For the first three years, taxes will be levied on all citizens. When the program kicks in and a state opts out, all those collected taxes from that state will be lost to the program.

Taxation without representation. Will any state opt out? You decide.
