Mary Jo Guess Baker, 81, of Mount Jackson, died on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

She was born on July 18, 1937, and was a daughter of the late Harwood H. Guess and Vida Mae Guess.

On Dec. 19, 1954, she married Floyd Baker, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Dennis of Mount Jackson; two daughters, Vicky Baker Riggleman and Teresa Gale Baker, both of Mount Jackson; a brother, Donald Guess of Edinburg; a sister, Judy Sours of Stanley; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Charlie and Russell Guess; and two sisters, Katherine Silvious and Betty Burns.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Woods Chapel Church, 58 Splinter Lane, New Market, by Pastor Glen Turner and Pastor Tim Miller. Burial will be private in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.

The family was to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Jackson Rescue and Fire Department, P.O. Box 251, Mount Jackson, Va. 22842.
