Ten acts of patriotism we don’t recommend

  • 10. Dump the country’s tea inventory into the Boston Harbor.

    9. Vote for free postage so people won’t always be reminded of the Stamp Act when they go to the mailbox.

    8. Buy a gas-guzzling Jeep Patriot — in red, white or blue, of course.

    7. Cover your new Jeep Patriot in flag bumper stickers — windshield and all.

    6. Write an easier-to-remember rap version of the Constitution, complete with modern-day slang.

    5. Sport a Tom Brady jersey.

    4. Add another crack to the Liberty Bell.

    3. Require bald eagles to carry an olive branch and a talon-full of arrows at all times so they match the presidential seal.

    2. Change all Uncle Sam posters to make the guy look a little happier.

    1. Give Lady Liberty the freedom to change up her wardrobe a little bit.
