Anna Flora Smith, 95, of Mount Sidney, passed away May 31, 2018.

Born Aug. 31, 1922, in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Oda Shaver Flora.

She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Weyers Cave.

She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Westinghouse.

On Sept. 5, 1942, she married Charles W. Smith Jr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2000.

Survivors include nine children, Barbara Glovier of Harrisonburg, Judy Ryman of Mount Sidney, Martha Rowland of Mechanicsville, Sylvester Smith of Rockingham, Joyce Smith Bradford of Florida, Charles William Smith III of Mount Sidney, Catherine Wimer of Mount Sidney, Mary Martin of McGaheysville and Nancy Byers of Grottoes; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Edgar Flora and Mark Flora.

Following a private burial in Thornrose Cemetery, a memorial service was conducted Monday, June 4, at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Weyers Cave.

The family received friends following the service and other times at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.
