Charles Edward “June” Howdyshell, 85, of Dayton, passed away May 24, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Rockingham County, on Aug. 14, 1932, and was a son of the late Charles N. and Ressie Howdyshell.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked at Celanese, Westinghouse, Dunham Bush, and Holly Farms.

On Jan. 1, 1955, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Janice (Hummel) Howdyshell, who preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2009.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Click of Bridgewater and Connie Howdyshell of Clinton, Tenn.; two sons Danny Howdyshell of Bridgewater and Benny Howdyshell of Elkton; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandson.

A funeral service was held at Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, May 29, with the Rev. Tony Martin officiating.

Burial followed the funeral and was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday, May 28, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
