Mark James Hanna
Mark James Hanna, 52, of Weyers Cave, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
He was born in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., on Jan. 21, 1957, and was a son of the late Robert John and Ruth A. (McDonald) Hanna, who survives him, of Weyers Cave.
He had worked as a maintenance worker at Rockingham County and owned and operated Hanna\'s Nursery in Weyers Cave. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Evangelical Church.
On June 13, 1981, he was united in marriage to Tami Huntley Hanna of Port Republic, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Kelly Rai Hanna of Grottoes; a son, Jason Alan Hanna of Bridgewater; a sister, Ruth Ann Logue of Bridgewater; two brothers, Robert Hanna of New Hope and Shawn Hanna of Staunton; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Salem Lutheran Evangelical Church, Mount Sidney, with the Rev. Christopher D. Carr officiating.

Irene Plume Parrish
Irene Plume Parrish, 85, of Florence, passed away Nov. 9, 2009, at ECM Hospital after a brief illness.
In 1988, Irene was recognized by the Florence Chapter of Civitan International as Citizen of the Year for contributions to her community as a volunteer. During the past 47 years, she has volunteered at ECM Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels, baked cakes for the firefighters and provided meals for college students. She has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Florence, serving as a nursery attendant, Sunday school teacher, GA leader and Sunday school class member. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron, and the Order of the Amaranth.
In a commitment of love exemplifying the Paul and Timothy model of Christianity, Irene bonded with Melanie Stokes in a 20-year relationship of mutual love, honor and respect, lifting each other up in their daily walk with Christ and loving friendship. She has set the bar; an unselfish, giving life and a loving example for her family to follow; a family whom she loved with all her heart.
Visitation was Tuesday evening at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service was yesterday, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Kevin Johnson officiated. Burial was in Greenview Memorial Park.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett D. Parrish; father, Gilbert Plume; mother, Jennie Plume; and a sister, Naomi Plume Davis.
She is survived by a son, Mike Parrish (Pat); daughter, Patti Stutts (Reed); like family to us, her friend in Christ, Melanie Stokes (Billy); brothers, Lawrence F. Plume (Margaret), Eugene H. Plume (Doris); sister, Ruby Davis (Vincent); grandchildren, Rev. Mary Noble Parrish, Darby Parrish Clark (Brian), LCDR Ike Stutts (Caroline), Mandy Parrish Irvin (Brent), Jennie-Marie Stutts McMasters (Carlton); great-grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Makayla Clark, Julianna Stutts, Emma Hensley McMasters, Mason Stutts and Mary-Reed McMasters.
Active pallbearers will be Bryan Austin, Bobby Burbank, Jim Hillhouse, Ollie Moore, Billy Stokes and Richard Thigpen.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Ruth Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, and the staff and residents of Columbia Cottage Assisted Living.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 209 N. Walnut St., Florence, AL 35630.

Howard R. Parmley
Howard R. Parmley, 89, of Grottoes, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Willow Estates Retirement Home in Penn Laird, where he had been a patient a few days.
He was born in Venice, N.Y., on Aug. 26, 1920, a son of the late Ernest and Lena (Teeter) Parmley.
On April 10, 1948, he married the former Dorothy Voorhees of Perry, N.Y., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Parmley of Greenville; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Prior to moving to Virginia in 1999, he lived in Largo, Fla., for 30 years. He retired as a grounds superintendent at Serenity Gardens in Largo.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Wayside Baptist Church in Waynesboro with the Rev. Randy Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Petersburg, Fla.

George Edward \"Ed\" Roadcap
George Edward \"Ed\" Roadcap, 76, of Waynesboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Avante at Waynesboro.
He was born in Rockingham County on May 29, 1933, and was a son of the late George Allen and Anna (Gooden) Roadcap.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Verona Full Gospel Church in Verona.
His first wife, Mamie Troxell Roadcap, preceded him in death.
On Nov. 24, 1987, he was united in marriage to Mary Faye Roadcap, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Peggy R. Wood of Verona and R. Faye Wimer of Fort Defiance; a son, Edward Wayne Roadcap of Crimora; two stepdaughters, Donna Warr of Bridgewater and Brenda of Crimora; two stepsons, Charles Jay Warr Jr. of Mount Crawford and Jimmy David Warr of Grottoes; four sisters, Shelva Mitts of Grottoes, Ellen Shaver of Weyers Cave, Janet Curry of Grottoes, and Norma Atkins of Dumfries; a brother, Frank Roadcap of Harrisonburg; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church in Verona with the Rev. William Strickler, Brother Pete Grimm, and Justin Roadcap officiating. Burial followed at Edgewood Cemetery near Grottoes.

Charlotte Kite Snow
Charlotte Kite Snow, 83, of Shenandoah, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at MontVue Nursing Home in Luray.
She was born in Page County on Dec. 13, 1925, and was a daughter of the late David A. and Iva Allene Comer Kite.
She lived the majority of her life in Shenandoah. She was a homemaker and worked in the restaurant at the Shenandoah VFW. She was a member of the Avis O. Comer, Ladies Auxiliary and the Mount Lebanon Congregational Christian Church.
She is survived by a sister, Lois Ann Freeze of Stanley, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Snow.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery with the Rev. Hudson Nuckols officiating.

Ile Alana Troutman Lambert
Ile Alana Troutman Lambert, 64, of Harrisonburg, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Lambert was born on March 26, 1945, in Allegany County, Md., and was a daughter of the late William and Agile Day Troutman.
She worked for Tyson Foods for 25 years, holding multiple positions. She was a member of the Ray of Hope Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg, where she sang in the choir.
On Aug. 10, 1963, she married James Lambert, who survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Jimmy Lambert of Stanley, Billy Lambert of Timberville and Jerry Lambert of Grottoes; a daughter, Lisa Goditt of Harrisonburg; two brothers, William Troutman Jr. of Broadway and Freddy Troutman of Mount Clinton; one sister, Bonnie Miller of Harrisonburg; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the Ray of Hope Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg with the Rev. Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial followed at the Singers Glen Cemetery in Singers Glen.
