Peggy and Lowell Miller celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and Lowell’s 100th birthday recently with a reception, given by their children.
The celebration took place at Maple Terrace in the Bridgewater Retirement Community, where they reside. Relatives from California to Alabama attended, along with many friends and former coworkers.
Lowell was born July 28, 1917, on a farm near Edom, and the couple was married on June 8, 1947, in Peggy’s hometown of Roanoke, Va. Lowell retired as Treasure/Business Manager of Bridgewater College in 1983, and Peggy taught math and English at Fort Defiance High School for many years, before retiring in 1986.
Both the Millers, along with their five children, are graduates of Bridgewater College. The children, all who live locally, are Mike and Karen Miller, Marilyn and David Knopp, Laurie and Ellen Miller, Dustyn and Sherry Miller, and Robbie and Terri Miller. Peggy and Lowell have 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
