NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING PROPOSED REZONING AND SPECIAL USE PERMIT TOWN OF BROADWAY, VIRGINIA Notice is hereby given that the Town Council (the Council ) of the Town of Broadway, Virginia (the Town ) and the Planning Commission of the Town of Broadway, Virginia (the Planning Commission ) will hold a joint public hearing pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, to receive public comment on the following zoning-related applications: A. Application of Ofelia Nichol and Larry Leffel, to rezone Tax Map Nos. 51A3-2-B6-L26A, 51A3-2-B6-L27A, and 51A3-2-B6-L28A, from B-2 (Planned Business) to B-1 (General Business). 9,042 square feet, between 451 and 463 South Main Street, Broadway. B. If the above-referenced rezoning is approved, the application of Ofelia Nichol and Larry Leffel for a special use permit on Tax Map Nos. 51A3-2-B6-L26A, 51A3-2-B6-L27A, and 51A3-2-B6-L28A, to permit the erection of a two family dwelling on such property. 9,042 square feet, between 451 and 463 South Main Street, Broadway. The rezoning may be the subject of proffered conditions submitted to the Council in accordance with Virginia law. Moreover, the Council may impose conditions in connection with the issuance of the special use permit described above. The joint public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, will be held on or about 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, before the Planning Commission and Council in the Town Council Chambers, located in the Broadway Town Office, 116 Broadway Avenue, Broadway, Virginia. Any person interested in the above applications may appear at the hearing and present his or her views. The Council may set rules and procedures for the conduct of this public hearing. A copy of the proposed rezoning ordinance and special use permit resolution, along with associated documentation, is on file and available for public review in the Town Offices located at 116 Broadway Avenue, Broadway, Virginia, during regular business hours. Written comments regarding the proposed rezoning and the proposed special use permit may be forwarded either to the Town Manager prior to the public hearing at the address stated herein, for transmission to the Council and Planning Commission, or to the Council and Planning Commission during the public hearing. Requests for special assistance should be made to the Town Manager on or before Noon on Friday, May 28, 2021; such requests should specify the nature of the assistance required.
