NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSAL FOR NEW SECOND HARRISONBURG HIGH SCHOOL December 10, 2019 At 7:00 pm The Harrisonburg City Council will a hold public hearing on December 10 2019, at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 409 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on a proposal submitted to the Harrisonburg City School Board for construction of a new second high school. The proposal was submitted pursuant to the Virginia Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002, (PPEA), and must be approved by City Council. The proposal includes two options. Option One contains a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $87,240,574.50, for the building and site, with a total project cost of $109,838,233.50. Option Two would delay the construction of certain athletic facilities and result in a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $80,069,084.66 for the building and site, with an initial total project cost estimate of $102,101,377.66. Under Option Two the athletic facilities will be constructed within three years of opening of the new high school at an additional estimated cost of $7,171,489.84 Copies of the proposals are available in the City Managers Office, 409 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P. M. All persons interested will have an opportunity to express their views at this public hearing. Any person requiring auxiliary aids, including signers, in connection with this public hearing shall notify the City Manager at least five (5) days prior to the time of the hearing.
