Virginia State Police say a tractor-trailer driver lost control and crashed on Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County on Wednesday morning.

According to a press release from the agency, a 2014 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling north at about 9:20 a.m. when it ran off the right side of the road and the driver, Azimullah Habibi, overcorrected.

The tractor-trailer struck the guardrail near mile marker 272.2 near Mount Jackson and ran down the embankment.

Habibi, 31, of Sacramento, Calif., was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

Police charged Habibi with reckless driving.

VSP was assisted at the scene by Mount Jackson Fire and Rescue, Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office, New Market Fire and Rescue, and the Virginia Department of Transportation.
