I grew up in a Democratic household and strongly supported the ideals and platform of the Democratic Party: free speech, racial equality, and social justice, and empathy for the common man. Quite frankly I have recently become disillusioned with the progressive direction that the Democratic Party has taken and have seen firsthand outside the borders of the United States the dismal failure of the well-intentioned results of progressivism and socialism.

One only has to look at the failed states of Venezuela, Cuba, and our adversary the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to see progressive utopias gone bad. Based on what I have observed as a world traveler, I am now by choice a staunch Republican and urge your readers to look beyond the personalities of this election cycle and examine the platforms of each respective party. While former Vice President Joe Biden may declare he is not a socialist nor supports the Green New Deal a quick look at the 110-page Biden Sanders Unity Pact reveals otherwise. Repeal of right to work laws, ending cash bail, providing a “public option” toward universal health care, and open borders are but a few of the more examples that will push this Republic away from its foundations and towards socialism and anarchy.

In spite of the uninformed rhetoric and name calling from both sides of the isle, as we approach Nov. 3, I believe it is important that citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia understand the underlying principles of the Republican Party. This can best be summarized by the Virginia Republican Creed which supports capitalism vs. socialism, constitutional limitations on the role of government, the rights of the individual, fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, and faith in God.

I would ask my fellow Democrats, as informed citizens to what part of the Republican creed do you object and what do you propose as an alternative?

Like it or not politics may be dirty and nasty, but we cannot as citizens look the other way or stick our head in the sand and hope that it will go away. Politics influences our business, culture, and family life. Charles Krauthammer in his book "Things that Matter" states: "You can have the most advanced and efflorescence of cultures. Get your politics wrong, however, and everything stands to be swept away. Politics is the moat, the walls, beyond which lie the barbarians. Fail to keep them at bay, and everything burns. We should care about politics because political acts can have profound human consequences. It makes a very great difference whether people live in freedom or servitude; whether government promotes a culture of life or a culture of death; whether the state is the guardian or enemy of human dignity.”

In closing, let’s work together in the Valley as both Democrats and Republicans to move this great republic forward. It is our civic duty and obligation for future generations of Americans. Failure is not an option.

Dearest Traitor and your lover Diana, please keep up the psychologic rants. They are quiet humorous. I enjoy reading them while sitting in my hunting blind waiting to harvest the next quality whitetail to walk by. Not to brag, but the last one was taken with a beautiful shot, he immediately dropped never knowing I was there or what hit him - just like it should be.

Diana

Queenie,,maybe I could same the same about you and your lover prodigals rants...(which are getting longer and more unhinged ) I find you both to be very amusing...Come on now..you know you love to brag...how was the Million Maga March to the deer blind...I'm sure you are exhausted..toting guns get heavy after awhile

bishopsboy

Actually, dearest Diana, I was torn between the March and hunting, with hunting winning out. I figured practicing my sharpshooter skills was probably was more important to the survival of our Republic than attending the rally...

Diana

Queenie...right whatever you say..you have a habit of telling untruths just like your idol does...bet your feet are sore from all the walking you did..[beam]

Driller

Satan aka Queenie, if you hadn't been a coward you could have joined the military and improved your sharpshooting skills and Uncle Sam would have supplied your ammo.

Driller

Diana, I bet Queenie was actually looking for the Trump Train, since it got derailed last week. Maybe he was actually looking for cheese to go with his WHINE? I know the reason he didn't go to the March. He was afraid he would be mistaken by the Proud Boys as an Antifa person and they might hurt him.

Driller

Satan aka Queenie aka Cheetah (Tarzans Buddy). I'll make it so you can understand my humorous rants. Biden 306 electoral votes 232 electoral votes for Dr. Trump. I can't imagine you bragging, but what does killing a deer have to do with anything. Not to brag , I've killed a few deer in my lifetime also. You like Dr. Trump will talk about anything to deflect from the election. Did prod give you a jock strap to smell, while you were waiting for your deer to come through? I bet he did!

bishopsboy

Dearest Traitor, if you can’t connect the dots I’m not going to do it for you. My meaning is completely clear to anyone smarter than a rock. Maybe your lover Diana can help you since she seems to be the less dumb member of your duo. BTW, the last time I checked President Trump was still contesting the cheat by mail ballots in 6 or 7 states. The legal process takes time.

Diana

Queenie, you won't connect the dots, is because you have no lead in your pencil..How does it feel to be so much smarter than a rock? lol...lol

bishopsboy

Dearest Diana, vulgarity certainly suits you but that’s not too surprising for a “lady” of your repute.

Driller

Satan aka queenie aka Cheetah(Tarzans Buddy) I've got the dots connected between you and jock strap smeller prod. I don't know Diana and she is probably smarter than I am, but for a man that said he had a 160 IQ, it must be on the curve that the government and everyone else has given you for a lifetime!!! The more you WHINE and cry the more it looks like you meant to say you had an IQ of 16. You like to tell me how dumb I am, but I am smart enough to see 306 is a lot more than 232. Keep looking for the cheese to go with your whine!! Are you going to D.C. on Jan. 20 for Con Don's second inauguration or are you going to stay home and eat cheese with your WHINE?

Diana

Queenie,,what's not surprising is that you make it a vulgarity...lead as in bullets...again you misconstrue..Clear your mind..I know it's hard when you have to shake a box of rocks..lol...lol..[ohmy]

bishopsboy

I’m not buying it, dearest Diana, you’re simply a vulgar person with a low intelligence lover.

Driller

Satan aka Cheetah(Tarzan's Buddy) aka bb, Tell me again what states Dr. Trump is going to win. The last map I saw, is showing President Elect Biden may win 306 Electoral Votes. Keep the faith, but the Trump Train has been derailed!!

bishopsboy

Dearest Traitor, that’s a bold post for someone riding Dementia Joe’s elevator to the basement. There are some very serious allegations of voter fraud in MI PA AZ NV GA and until those issues are settled in court we won’t know how this election will turn out. Regardless of who ultimately wins in the courts though, President Trump will ALWAYS be my President and Joe Biden never will be.

Diana

Queenie..who has been hiding in the bunker all week? ..Trump said months before any votes were even cast, that the election was rigged.(.that is unless he won) and the Republicons have run with that..Trump had a commission to investigate election fraud in 2017 that was disbanded in 2018 because there was no widespread fraud found..So far there has been no voter fraud found now.funny how the fraud is only against Trump...not any other politician on the ticket.. Should we recount all the votes in every state too? who knows...maybe his vote count would be even lower..Sad to see our democracy undermined because of ;his narcissism...BTW...I'm sure you and your friends are going to walk in the Million Maga March in DC on Saturday..Don't forget to take your guns..you might get to use them

bishopsboy

BTW, Traitor, what about Biden’s China plague advisor planning to give OUR vaccine to the Chinese first instead of Americans. What kind of idiot did you vote for? Looks like Biden needs to pay back some of those Chinese bribes he and Hunter took, and at your expense! I guess it doesn’t matter if you die as long as Biden lines his pockets with Chinese loot. You really are a fool!

Diana

Queenie..you know that is a false statement. No where did he say Americans wouldn't get it first..plus you have no idea if Biden would ever go along with such an idea..I can almost guarantee Trump and family have lined their pockets with more money from China than Biden ever has....oops..maybe he owes China money...(along with several others)..talk about voting for an idiot and being a fool......BTW..since you and your friends think this virus has been a hoax...I'm surprised you would be concerned about who get the vaccine first

Driller

Diana, Cheetah (Tarzans Buddy)keeps telling us about all the fraud and irregularities in the election. Doesn't look the courts are seeing the same thing FOX and Qanon are seeing. The only place Queenie gets his information. Dr. Trump is attacking those nasty Republicans that ran the elections, for saying the election has no fraud in it. Dr. Trump's DHS says this is the most secure election ever!! Queenie just admitted what I said after the election, he and idiots like him will never accept Biden as their president and therefore will not do anything to help him. They would rather see people die than to wear a mask to help stop the spread of the "Virus", since Biden might get the credit. You don't hear about the Republican't governors, putting on new restrictions in their states to slow down the "Virus". Months ago, remember how the cheerleaders kept harping about the large amount of cases in the Democratic states? Where are they now saying anything about the large amount of cases in the Republican't run states. Just another group of WHINERS, hypocrites and losers.

Driller

Satan aka Queenie aka Cheetah (Tarzans Buddy), Back to your WHINING and NAME CALLING. I'll tell you what kind of idiot I voted for.... THE WINNING IDIOT!!! After Dr. Trump is out of office we'll see who could have major criminal charges brought against him. You are really stupid!!!

Driller

Satan aka Cheetah aka bb, There you go again, IF. I'll remind you again, IF the frog had wings he won't bump his rear end. Think about it, Dr. Trump ran for President twice and lost the popular vote count by over seven million votes together. You can think all you want, but you are right Biden IS the President elect and will be President. Again, IF Dr. Trump would win GA. AZ. and PA. Dr. Trump would win, but it looks like Dr. Trump is falling farther behind. IF,I had more money than anyone in the world, I'd be the richest man in the world. IF only!! Tell me how the ballot boxes were stuffed by the Democrats and they still didn't take over the Senate and lost seats in the House. The Senate was more important than the Presidency, IF the Democrats would have won the Senate, they could have investigated Dr. Trump and his associates and Dr. Trump would have not been able to stop him!! IF!!! It's a shame Dr. Trump is going to fire many people in the government and make a dangerous situation for our Country and its security. I hope and pray Dr. Trump would finally put the Country in front of his own agenda. Let me give you another IF, IF the SDNY gets hold of Dr. Trump's business and tax returns, Dr. Trump and kids may go to jail. IF Dr. Trump would have told his loyal fans to wear a mask. we would be in better shape with the "Virus" and half of his White House people won't have the "Virus". IF the Democrats win the Senate seats in GA., the Democrats will control everything. IF that happens let the investigations begin!! Hold your breath and continue thinking about the IFs..

bishopsboy

Dearest Traitor, IF you read the Constitution you will see that President is not elected until December 14 by the Electoral College. The Electoral College, not the news media, determine who is President and there are many legal issues to settle between now and then which may affect the Electoral College vote.

LOL about President Trump or any of kids going to jail - that'll never happen.

Senator Manchin from your home state of WV has already said he will not support radical changes proposed by Schumer such as Supreme Court packing and eliminating the filibuster, so IF the Democrats win both GA senatorial elections, much of what you traitors want is DOA. In fighting between Dems in the House will kill much of the rest.

Driller

Satan aka Cheetah(Tarzan's buddy) aka bb, Why do you and the Republican'ts keep saying the President is picked by the Electorial College and not the News Media? Where do you think the News Media is getting their numbers on the election? I don't hear the Republican'ts complaining about the count and projections when they were declared the victors. I wonder what difference there was, with the same people counting all the votes. Don't laugh too hard about Dr. Trump and his kids going to jail. Seems the New York Times has gotten 20 years of Con Don's tax papers now. That will probably change the outlook on what Con Don and his businesses have been doing for sure in the last 20 years. I'm sure several District Attorneys would love to get Con Don or his kids in court. Don't worry, PRESIDENT BIDEN will eliminate many of Con Don's executive orders. You talk about the Democrats fighting with themselves, but what about the two Republican Senate candidates calling for their Republican counterpart leading the count on Ga. to resign?

bishopsboy

I know you’re dumb Traitor but GA and AZ are too close to call. Trump could win both. He will win NC. PA will be decided in the Supreme Court. There is a reasonable possibility Trump could win enough electoral votes to win reelection so stop whining and let the legal process work itself out. Gore had 37 days to fight for FL in 2000. Trump deserves the same consideration and has every legal right to do so. As the saying goes, it ain’t over until it’s over.

Donald

I have led a few horses to water, Mr. bknjholl, but never attempted to force them to drink. But, I must say, I have never seen one jump into the water, splash about and doggy paddle in circles (do horse’s actually doggy paddle?) to distract from not drinking. My comments were never about political parties but political ideologies (philosophies if you prefer). Paddle toward the shoreline, Mr. bknjholl, it is not that distant.

Donald

I know I have said it before, but it bears repeating – Scandinavian and similar countries are social welfare states operating under and supported by a freeish market capitalist system, not a socialist system and should not be held up as an example of a socialist system. These countries would describe themselves as social democrat.

Democratic socialists seek an incremental transition to full socialism while socialists seek a revolutionary transition. Other than the timeline and method, both share the same desired toxic and destructive destination.

bknjholl

Yes, you have said it before, but strangely enough, you never warn us of the dangerous potential of incremental capitalism. The tendency is towards the consolidation of wealth and power into the hands of the few. Without a properly balanced economic system with guardrails protecting us from the extremes, we are collectively off the cliff, either east or west, left or right.

I wonder why there has never been a construct known as "democratic capitalism."

Donald

Not a warning, Mr. bknjholl, a clarification of terms and a correction on the misuse of Scandinavian countries as examples of the success of socialism.

As for “democratic capitalism”, you may be living in one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_capitalism#Definition

A quote from the link:

“It is marked by democratic elections, freedom, and rule of law, characteristics typically associated with democracy.[4][5] It retains a free-market economic system with an emphasis on private enterprise.”

bknjholl

Yep, you're just making stuff up. Be sure to let me know when the Democratic-Socialist Party in America gets powerful enough to replace or even threaten the existence of the Republican or Democratic Party.

You may have been close when you indicated that we might be living in a "democratic-capitalist" nation but only in the sense that we are also already a "democratic-socialist" nation. May we forever stay such...

Donald

Words have meaning and meaning is derived from definition, Mr. bknjholl. I have provided you a link that clarifies what democratic socialism is, and in response to your question “I wonder why there has never been a construct known as "democratic capitalism"” I provided you another link that demonstrates that such a construct does indeed exist. You go to bed tonight more knowledgeable than when you awoke. That is a good thing.

bknjholl

Just a sec. Let me wipe the honeyed, syrupy, sweet rhetorical honey from my face. (Wipes carefully with a silk napkin.) Words you say? Have meaning, you say? Would that it be true. But I digress.

Sir Donald, where did you go? The words in question described the insidious and inevitable slide into authoritarian socialism advocated by the Democratic Socialists of America.

And of course, the Link. I'm going to reassure you that a small but active faction of the DSA in Congress has a realistic attitude about our country. I know I'm taking a leap of faith here, but I venture a quote from the DSA website, "DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people". Truthfully, the DSA "focuses the bulk of its political activities on reforms within capitalism…"

Remain calm, Sir. The key to governance is balance and compromise. Some governance works better as a cooperative jointly funded and implemented by the citizenry through their democratically elected representatives. Some governance works better by unleashing the considerable power of private enterprise, innovation, and creativity. It's not helpful to continually highlight and encourage fear of the radicals in either camp. The proper course is to acknowledge radicals but keep them in the appropriate place in the political spectrum, far away from actual governance.

bknjholl

Oh, dear... please forgive me. I was totally distracted by the original thread from Mr. Poplar, which was indeed about political parties. What? Do you want to discuss ideologies only? Well, dear me... I shall plunge back in the pond of politics and endeavor to find a safe port of call. Heaven forbid that political parties might reflect ideology. What was I thinking....

Carry on.

bknjholl

No. Democratic socialists do NOT seek an incremental transition to full socialism. I hereby revoke your self-granted permission to make stuff up. Carry on...

xghanie

agree

Donald

Indeed, Mr. bknjholl, I would not want to “make things up”.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_socialism

From the link:

“Although most democratic socialists seek a gradual transition to socialism,[5] democratic socialism can support either revolutionary or reformist politics as means to establish socialism.[6] As a term, democratic socialism was popularised by social democrats and other socialists who were opposed to the authoritarian socialist development in Russia and elsewhere during the 20th century.

Donald

I think on January 20th when the next president is sworn in, it will be Mr. Trump.

Driller

Satan aka Russian Troll aka bb, Don't worry so much about after Nov 3 the Democratic Party will disintegrate. With Dr. Trump holding the Super Spreader events and not trying to stop the "Virus", with it now with the "Virus" running wild in the Republican't states maybe the Republican't Party will disintegrate.

bishopsboy

Dearest Traitor, keep washing your hands and hiding in your basement, you'll be okay.

Driller

Satan aka Queenie aka Russian Troll aka bb, Maybe if you idiots would have listened at the start and now listen to the experts, instead of Dr. Trump, the country could have be re-opened by now!! Like I said, even if Biden wins and he and the experts promotes wearing masks , the stupid Trump supporters will still not wear them and then wonder why the economy is not getting better. That would still suit them because Biden would be in charge. Until the country unites and tries to slow the "Virus" down, the economy will never come back!! Dr. Trump's policies have not worked in 9 months. let's follow what the experts say for a couple of months and see if it gets any better!!

xghanie

you are the traitor and you talk from a point of fear...

bishopsboy

Dearest xghanie, I am no traitor although Driller has confessed to being one in another post. I fear no one nor anything, so your comment is just silly.

bknjholl

The Party described by Mr. Poplar would be a welcome addition to the current political environment. I truly hope that Republicans can reclaim their party and return it to the status of a functioning national political party.

bishopsboy

Dear bkn, you should be saying that about the Democrat Party which will most likely disintegrate after Nov 3rd. If Biden wins there’s going to be all out war between the nutty Lefties and the outright commie Lefties. If Biden loses, all the Lefties are going to go bonkers. Either way, the Dems are in serious trouble as a party.

bknjholl

BB, that is not a view supported by anyone to the left of Attila the Hun. Hundreds of former Republican campaign officials, congress critters, intel officers, are now supporting the center-left candidacy of Mr. Biden. The lefties you fear are well-placed on the fringes of the Democratic Party. The party leadership is doing a good job of keeping them there. Fear not.

bishopsboy

Dearest bkn, we’ll see what happens between now and year’s end. Pocahontas and Crazy Bernie are already claiming stakes in Biden’s cabinet and Basement Joe hasn’t even won yet.

DeftCurmudgeon

I've got news for you; the left wing kooks are now -running- your party.

And the electorate has taken note.

Red Tsunami inbound...

bknjholl

Well, it's interesting to note that Atilla the Hun has so many loyal followers... Advocating that much cruelty is not a persuasive argument.

bishopsboy

It's better to fight along side Attila than to submit to socialist slavery.

bknjholl

So being a slave of capitalism is ok for you?

bishopsboy

bkn, there's no such thing as being a slave to capitalism. Under capitalism, I choose my own destiny; if I don't like my station in life, I change it. Not so under socialism.

bknjholl

I would think that either capitalism or socialism would equally support self-determination, enterprise, and personal destiny. I also think either one can collapse into totalitarianism if left unregulated or fall under the control of leaders more concerned with power and wealth than the common good. We have historical examples of each.

bishopsboy

Tell that to someone living in Venezuela, Cuba, China, the former Soviet Union or its communist satellites. Socialism ALWAYS leads to poverty, misery, and death. I’ll stick with the Huns.

bknjholl

BB, to be fair you should check with the friendly folks in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Canada, or any European Union country, and ask them about their quality of life. I concede that I'm referring to a different kind of Socialism called Democratic Socialism, but still...

I'm pretty sure that neither of us would be happy with the extremes of either world view.

bishopsboy

Dearest bkn, I talked two gentlemen from Scotland not long ago and discussed tax rates. They didn't seem to be very happy with their democratic socialist ones.

bknjholl

BB, in this we agree. Taxes exist. They are the cost of having a country. A better conversation on taxes would include what we want them to pay for. Personally, I would like my tax money to be used conservatively, supporting well planned and implemented policy. I would support policies that keep us safe both domestically and globally, improve the quality of life for all citizens, encourage entrepreneurship and initiative, and preserve "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

I would support governance that is efficient, effective, and throws its "nickels around like manhole covers." (Nod to Mike Ditka... :). I also want the trains to run on time, the electric grid to be secure and efficient, and the roads and bridges in good repair and the rest of our nation's infrastructure upgraded and improved.

Neither of these is a complete list, but the important thing for me is to improve the quality of governance, supporting our public and civil servants, congress critters, and a president who are also dedicated to excellence in governance. I want my money's worth.

bishopsboy

So bkn, I take it, you voted for Trump?

bknjholl

In my original post on this thread, I mourned the demise of the Republican Party. In truth, they've lost the will to govern and are now a "post-policy" party. They've embraced the radical wing of their party and inevitably devolved into chaos. There is no party platform. Famously they released a statement saying that they were good to go with whatever Mr. Trump would like to do. "Whatever" for me is not an option. So at this point, given my views on governance and the importance of an efficient, effective, and stable government, there really was only one choice.

"I'm Biden my time, cause that's the kinda guy I'm.... "

bishopsboy

Nonsense, bkn, the Republican and Democrat Parties are undergoing a demographic transformation where both black and Hispanic minorities are increasingly identifying as Republicans, especially as the Democrats push that socialism garbage. In addition, the working class is migrating to the Republican Party while Democrats are becoming the party of Wall Street bankers and big business. It's quite interesting to watch. It also has significant implications for the future as America becomes browner. If you didn't notice, the great blue wave never appeared and Republicans fared quite well in this last election, gaining House seats with a good chance of retaking the House in 2022, especially if the Democrats keep pushing this socialism nonsense. Likewise, the Republicans will probably hold the Senate after the Georgia run-offs as long as the Democrats can't stuff ballot boxes days after the election like they did in this last one. With a conservative Supreme Court and control of the Senate, and likely retaking of the House in 2 years, I'd hardly refer to that as the demise of the Republican Party. If Biden becomes President, we'll see whether he and Pelosi can hold the establishment "moderates" and Squad socialists together - I doubt it as the coalition is strained with cracks already forming.

bknjholl

I agree with most of your assessment regarding demographics, while Democrats, though less openly than Republicans, have embraced "Wall Street and big business." I think that is not relevant to who I've supported in this election or the demise of the Republican Party. It's already happened. The GOP is at a historically low ebb, and yes, it has no way but up.

There will be some soul-searching going on with Democrats, especially. I believe there is hope that Republicans will do some reflection and realize that if they return to an embrace of governance, there is, as you've stated, fertile political ground to gain.

bishopsboy

LOL, bkn, at the historical low comment. Picking up 10-15 House seats, probably holding the Senate, hundreds of conservatives placed on the federal courts, 5 solid conservatives on the Supreme Court, AND the most legal votes ever cast for a Presidential candidate on election day. If that's the low point, I can't wait to see the high one! Unfortunately, with voting fraud, I believe the Democrats have only started toward their pinnacle. i.e., Biden refusing to say he only wanted legal votes to count.

bknjholl

BB, you have set a low bar. Falling for a conspiracy theory about Legal and non-Legal voting just gave your game away. So… For the Republican Party to return to relevance:

Give up the myth of voter fraud.

Quit supporting White Nationalists.

Never again support people who objectify or molest women.

Never again support crazy people owning a veritable arsenal of military-grade weapons.

Give up the demand that the government should dictate all reproductive decisions in the name of “pro-life.”

Give up the "pro-life" moniker until you quit supporting capital punishment and herd immunity.

Quit supporting people who oppose science.

PIck good candidates. The GOP has not been sending their best. I'm sure some of them are good people, but...

And… it would help if you learned to count. 71 million is a good high number. So it is 74 Million. Scoreboard…

bishopsboy

Dearest bkn, if no voter fraud why were Republican poll observers refused the ability to watch the counting process in Philadelphia and Atlanta? Why were Wisconsin poll workers instructed to complete incomplete mail in ballots? Why did SCOTUS Justice Alito instruct PA to segregate and count separately mail in ballots received after 8 pm Tuesday and to subtract them from the running totals? These are facts not conspiracy theories.

bknjholl

Well, since you asked. None of that is actually fraud that has been backed up with any evidence. Certainly nothing like Mr. Trump asking North Carolina voters to vote twice and Wisconsin party members phoning and emailing PA voters to mail-in ballots after Tuesday to "test" the system... It certainly couldn't be GOP state legislatures prohibiting counting mail-in ballots until the morning of election day and then bitterly complaining about ballots magically appearing and filing lawsuits to stop counting.

Voter fraud is a complete myth unless you're only talking about honest mistakes in filling out ballots, clerical errors (that are easily fixable), or other glitches in the system. Always has been, always will be.

bishopsboy

We'll see about that "myth" when the whistleblower claims are investigated this week.

bishopsboy

Dearest bkn, regarding the remaining nonsense in your post:

The white nationalist statement is totally untrue and easily refuted.

Read the Constitution and Federalist Papers regarding gun rights.

Murdering babies up to and even after birth is not a reproductive decision.

Capital punishment was decreed by God.

Science like human life begins at the moment of conception?

Trump was an awesome candidate, but you Dems could do much better than selecting a man suffering dementia.

74 million is only a good number if all 74 million votes were legally cast.

bknjholl

BB, I understand and appreciate our differences. God Bless America. In that spirit…

See Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon, David Duke, et al.

Gun rights are one thing; the radical excess of the pro-gun movement is quite another.

Your statements on abortion are the most radical over-simplifications of a complex issue.

Only if you believe the Old Testament's ancient texts supersede the words of Christ in the New Testament.

See comment 3 above.

“I am forced to conclude that this man (Mr. Trump) was completely unsuited for the presidency.” - Bob Woodward.

Well, my vote was legal, your vote was legal… so far, it’s one to one…. Keep counting.

bishopsboy

Dearest bkn,

White Nationalism: “"I've said it many times, and let me be clear again: I condemn the [Ku Klux Klan]. I condemn all white supremacists. I condemn the Proud Boys. I don’t know much about the Proud Boys, almost nothing. But I condemn that," Trump said on Sean Hannity's Fox News show.”

I’m still waiting for someone on the Left to tell me what Biden meant when he called poor black children “roaches” or to explain to me why Biden’s opposition to school integration is not white supremacy.

Gun Rights: the 2nd Amendment, as explained in the Federalist Papers, applies to standard military issue weapons of the day.

Abortion: no complexity required at all if human life (as shown by Science) begins at conception. It’s radical and extreme to withhold medical assistance from a live born baby from a botch abortion or to perform a partial birth abortion. Mainstream Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Ralph Northam support both these actions. “Complexity” is only required when trying to justify the indefensible.

Capital punishment: Jesus said, “I and the Father are one." (John 10:30). That would make Jesus the same God of the Old Testament who mandated capital punishment.

Science: Biology has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt a new human life comes into existence when the sperm and egg join. Show me a real scientist who doesn’t believe that.

Bob Woodward is a political hack. The first plane load of Israelis landed in the UAE yesterday thanks to President Trump’s peace brokering. How well did Bush, Clinton, Bush, or Zero fare in their Middle East peace deals?

I agree both our votes were legal, now 145M more to go…..

prodigalson

Very eloquent, and nicely stated Mr. Poplar.

bishopsboy

I'll second that. Great job, Mr. Poplar!

Driller

Satan aka Cheeta aka bb and cheerleaders, More cheese needed for all this whining!!!! I'll remind you that Biden got 74 million+ votes and Dr. Trump got only70 million+. As James Clyburn told the FOX news host the last time he checked 75 million votes was more than 71 million votes. If Dr. Trump would have encouraged mail in voting, maybe he wouldn't haven't jumped out to such a large lead, demanded the counting of the votes stop and he be declared he was the winner. Instead, he showed he was the WHINER!!! Thank God only 70 couple more days!!

bishopsboy

Dearest Traitor, I'll remind you the popular vote for President means nothing, the only vote counting is the one in December when the Electoral College elects the president. Until then, neither Biden nor Trump is the President-elect although President Trump is still the President until January 20th.

That whining sound you hear is from AOC and Pelosi as they blame each other for the red wave that has nearly wiped out their majority in the House. If Biden actually wins the Presidency and historical trends hold in 2022, the Republicans will retake the House. That whining is also coming from Democrats who realize historical numbers of blacks and Hispanics voted Republican and for President Trump. It's gotta hurt when minorities are leaving the Democrat plantation at increasing rates, especially as their percentage of the population increases – that’s awesome news for the Republicans. Understand Joe under-performed with blacks and way under-performed with Hispanics – that should be a warning to you Democrats to stop that socialist nonsense. We Republicans gladly welcome both minorities into our fold.

Your last sentences are complete nonsense. Everyone knew the mail in votes would favor Biden while the walk-in votes would favor Trump. No one was surprised by that.

You might be thanking God too early regarding a Biden presidency. If there was massive voter fraud as President Trump has alleged, the legal process may throw out many votes flipping several states called for Biden. Although, I think the Democrats are good at stuffing ballot boxes and hiding their tracks so I believe Biden will ultimately prevail. However, I expect PA to be flipped to Trump by the SCOTUS if they rule on the constitutionality of the extended voting deadline there. If Trump were ultimately able to pull off a hail-Mary by holding GA and AZ and flipping PA, you will be congratulating President Trump in December, not Biden.
