Edna Adeline Den Hartog, 94, of Des Moines, Iowa, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1924, near Leighton, Iowa, and was a daughter of the late Simon Den Hartog and Hattie De Bruin Den Hartog.

Mrs. Den Hartog graduated from Prairie City, Iowa high school and from Central College in Pella, Iowa. She received a Master of Religious Education degree from the Biblical Seminary in New York City. She served the Winnebago Indian Mission of the Reformed Church in America at Winnebago, Neb. For many years, she was a Weekday Religious Education teacher for the Page County Council of WRE in Luray. She also served as Director of Christian Education at Second Reformed Church, Pella, Iowa, and First Presbyterian Church, Burlington, Iowa. She was a member of the Bethany Reformed Church and was an avid reader.

She is survived by two nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Den Hartog.

A funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Bethany Reformed Church in Des Moines, with visitation from 4-5 p.m.
