Turner Ashby and Page County will have to wait a week for its Virginia High School League baseball and softball semifinals.
Originally scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at Salem’s Moyer Complex, the VHSL announced this morning that all Class 3 and Class 4 softball and baseball semifinals will now be played on June 13 due to the weather forecast this weekend in Salem.
That was followed shortly by announcement that the Class 1 and 2 softball and baseball games would also be pushed back to next week.
Page County baseball's Class 2 baseball semifinal against Lebanon — originally scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m. at Radford University — Page softball's semifinal game against Richlands, also scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at Radford, were both postponed as well.
The Panthers' baseball game will now be held at Pulaski's Calfee Park at a to-be-determined time. The Page softball semifinal will remain at Radford with a time pending.
It's the second time this week schedule changes have been made for the Jubilee. On Wednesday, the VHSL moved game times up to avoid the anticipated weather.
The Knights (22-4) face Skyline (18-6) in the semifinals with the winner advancing to the state championship game, now scheduled for June 14 at the Moyer Complex.
